23 May
Iberia Festival
Benidorm
Enjoy amazing festivals and fiestas in Benidorm and the towns and villages of the Marina Baixa region.
When on holiday it’s always time to party. And doing something a little different will only add to that holiday buzz while here in Benidorm and Marina Baixa.
The annual lineup includes the indie music Low Festival in Benidorm, Reggaeton Beach Festival serving up urban music and Latin rhythms and the twin peaks of Cheltenham Week and St Patrick’s Day. Can get a little messy but good messy, if you know what we mean.
And don’t forget the now legendary Benidorm Pride Festival followed by Europe’s biggest Fancy Dress Party. Pink Weekend adds a little glamour and the Benidorm Half Marathon a little sweat.
And throughout the year, you have festivals celebrating the Moors and Christians and a fiesta of some sort taking place in every village and town. Just listen out for the beat of the drum and insanely loud firecrackers!
The Spanish love to party, so we may as well join in.
Check out our Featured Events and what’s coming month by month.
Get up, get into it, get involved!

Wednesday 13 May to Sunday 17 May
Gran Hotel Bali, Calle del Actor Luis Prendes, Benidorm, Spain
We cannot get enough Northern Soul these days. Even Gen X are getting into the action, would you believe!
It’s even better when the music is playing in Benidorm – ‘sunny days and soulful nights’ just about sums up this musical jamboree.
Hosted by Gran Hotel Bali, there are 4 rooms of Northern Soul with 25 DJs bringing out all the classics from the vaults.
With Poolside Sessions, Rare Soul Allnighters and the Cotton Club at the Bali all working together to create a unique atmosphere in Spain’s premier party resort, this is one of those events you need to seriously think about getting into your diary…especially as it’s 10th Anniversary Year!!!

Saturday 23 May
Auditori Julio Iglesias, Calle Primavera, Benidorm, Spain
Even if you’re a little unfamiliar with the Spanish Rock & Pop scene what a fabulous addition to your Benidorm holiday to join the hordes that will head to the Julio Iglesias Auditorium.
The Iberian Festival is now in its 15th year and is something of a favourite in Spain, offering a line-up of legends and the next generation of Spanish bands.
Think about it: an early summer evening, outdoor tunes and a few glasses of Rioja. Give it a go!

Saturday 23 May to Sunday 24 May
Estadio de Rugby de Villajoyosa, Estadio de Rugby, Villajoyosa, Spain
Even if you’re not into rugby this is a great way to spend some time on holiday. The stadium and setting is superb and the atmosphere during the tournament is first class.
Rugby teams come from around the globe, all making their way to compete in the 39th edition of what is one of Europe’s top Sevens tournaments. We have attended a few, starting with the 20th edition. And it is always an enjoyable event, great for families as well as groups looking for a bit of sporting action under a warm sun with a few cold beers to make it that bit more enjoyable!

Saturday 6 June - 5:00 pm
Auditorio Julio Iglesias, Calle Primavera, Benidorm, Spain
La Ruta was Valencia’s equivalent to Manchester’s Hacienda.
A cutting-edge dance scene that emanated from a patchwork of clubs outside of Valencia.
At the time, during the 1990s and 2000s, Spaniards flocked to clubs such as Chocolate, Barraca, Spook Factory and Puzzle. And DJ’s rolled in from all over Europe.
Although Ibiza stole the global spotlight, there remains a certain reverence amongst the clubbing cognoscenti for all things La Ruta.
And here in Benidorm, you get to #rememberyourlife and relive the high point of the Spanish clubbing scene from over twenty years ago.
If you’re a youngster, get yourself a ticket, pay homage to a unique time in dance history – and find out the type of music your parents danced to when they were young!

Saturday 4 July to Sunday 5 July
SKYFEST BENIDORM, Avenida Ciudad Deportiva, Benidorm, Spain
If Latin beats are your vibe mix it up with a like-minded crowd at the highly anticipated Latin Fest.
From Reggaeton to Salsa and Bachata to the sounds of international Latin music, this open air festival brings the rhythm and soul of Latino to life.
Oh, and there’s some awesome food and drink to be had, too!

Saturday 18 July to Sunday 19 July
Plaça Major, Tàrbena, Spain
Tàrbena Food Festival is becoming a bit of a thing in this part of Marina Baixa. The village square looks a picture and a variety of stalls, music and events combine to provide a genuine glimpse into Spanish life. We love it, especially when Paco, from nearby restaurant Sa Canterella, sets up his Mojito stall!

Wednesday 22 July to Wednesday 29 July
Playa Centro La Vila Joiosa, Avenida del Port, Villajoyosa, Spain
The Moors and Christian festivals are a major event in most towns across our part of Spain.
Villajoyosa’s annual retelling of the Christian triumph is one of the best due to the use of the Mediterranean Sea in proceedings.
The visual spectacular is something to behold as the desembarco sees the flotilla of boats land ashore as the Moors mount their attack on the replica fortress on the beach. Battle ensues.
And after that, as with most things in this great country – it’s fiesta time!

Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July
Callosa d'en Sarrià, Spain
La Festa del Fadrí, also referred to as Les Danses de Sant Jaume, embodies the passion Spaniards have for their culture and traditions. Celebrated annually since 1819, this is one of Marina Baixa’s oldest festivals. As well as a poetic dance to celebrate the union of each couple the festivities include the playing of ancient games such as Valencian pelota, a coin game Calitxó and Corrida del Gallo – a Rooster Race!

Saturday 8 August
Castell de L'Olla, Partida la Olla, Altea, Spain
Be one of the 50,000 people who descend on Castell de l’Olla in Altea to watch in awe a pyrotechnic display like no other.
Held for over 35 years and now classified as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, this spectacular event should be squeezed into your diary if possible.
Imagine: The setting of the fireworks display is a platform floating in the Mediterranean which is then set off, creating a multicoloured night canvas reflected across the sea.
And it doesn’t end there! Music from a live orchestra is choreographed to the display adding to the sheer magnificence of it all.

Thursday 27 August to Sunday 30 August
Gran Hotel Bali, Calle del Actor Luis Prendes, Benidorm, Spain
Bachata is a dance style that originates from the Dominican Republic-inspired music genre of the same name.
And the Benidorm Beach Festival has some of the top couples turning up to demonstrate all the moves.
With up to 3,000 fans expected to enjoy the dancing and pool parties at the Gran Hotel Bali, this is the party for you if Latin beats and hot salsa-type steps get the blood pumping!

Sunday 30 August
Villajoyosa, Spain
The Spanish love cycling.
On any given day you will see pro teams, weekend warriors, couples, families and solos out on the roads of Spain.
And La Vuelta is Spain’s race.
This year’s iteration starts in Monaco and ends on the streets of Grenada, kicking off 22nd August and finishing on the 13th of September.
For anyone in Benidorm and the Marina Baixa area, Stage 9 of this year’s event is held on 30th August where the route begins from Villajoyosa passing through Finestrat, La Nucia, Callosa d’en Sarrià and Tàrbena.
Don plenty of suncream, pack a bottle of water and make sure to grab a spot along the route to witness one of the world’s great cycle races!

The church of San Jaime in the Old Town is decked out with flowers while the streets across the whole resort are alive with outdoor theatre, live music, colourful float parades, puppet shows and more.

Saturday 27 February to Tuesday 2 March
Old Town, Benidorm, Spain
Benidorm Carnival is all about the coming of Spring. Commencing the Saturday before Ash Wednesday with a children’s parade at 10am and the adult procession at about 8.30pm; fancy dress takes centre stage with winners declared at the end. On the Tuesday, Carnival culminates with The Burial of the Sardine which historically signified the end of winter and the start of the fishing season. The poor sardine is transported through the streets of the Old Town to Poniente Beach where it will meet an inglorious end.

Monday 1 March to Friday 19 March
València, Spain
If you are in Benidorm during the first couple of weeks in March, a visit to Valencia has to be on your To Do List.
One of Spain’s premier festivals takes place from the 1st to the 19th, conjuring up a mix of tradition, satire and art all served up with a good dose of chaos!
On each day the city reverberates with the Mascletà, that noisy, firecracker noise that is so wonderfully Spanish.
The key dates are the 15th to the 19th when you can witness the ‘planting’ of hundreds of fallas in streets and squares all over the city. Each falla usually follows a theme and includes a myriad of individual sculptures called ninots depicting famous people, often with a nod to current affairs.
If you are here on the 19th you can join in the thrill of watching them all go up in flames!

Monday 15 March to Friday 19 March
Benidorm, Spain
The Valencian region’s internationally recognised Las Fallas takes place in the city of Valencia each March. Check out our 48 Hours in Valencia blog if you fancy visiting Spain’s greatest city (in our opinion!). But back to Benidorm’s own no less impressive Fallas where you can join in the party and bear witness to the effigy burning without needing to leave the resort.
As part of the street parties and procession of the ninots, the effigies themselves, Las Fallas is famous for the screeching noise of the mascletás, a firecracker so loud it’s almost impossible to describe. The burning – cremà – always takes place on the 19th – Day of San José, and Father’s Day in Spain, too – and you can watch the flames in three areas of town: Rincón de Loix (Burger King), Centro (Bristol Hotel) and Els Tolls (c/Tomàs Ortuño).

Tuesday 16 March to Friday 19 March
Benidorm, Spain
As odd as it may sound, Cheltenham Week has become a designated period for flying out to Benidorm for a mini-break. And why not? The hotels and bars have huge screens, the sun is invariably shining – it can even be hot – and the vibe is unbeatable.
An additional bonus is that St Patrick’s Day is always floating about somewhere close to Cheltenham – this year bang in the middle of the festival – and Benidorm’s Las Fallas brings the Spanish to the party. So the real question is – why wouldn’t you come to Benidorm during Cheltenham Week?
Check out our Ode to Cheltenham to get you in the mood.

Wednesday 17 March
Calle Gerona, Benidorm, Spain
Like almost everywhere else, Benidorm embraces the Irish patron saint day as if it were their own.
Tens of thousands of British holidaymakers come to Benidorm specifically to be here for St Patrick’s Day.
All dressed in green, the craic and the buzz are electric. The bars put on even more music and shows during the day – our Show Calendar will keep you informed – and the partying goes on until the early hours.
This year St Patrick’s Day lands in the middle of Cheltenham Week, so the party is going to be pretty full on!

Sunday 28 March to Sunday 4 April
Benidorm, Spain
Easter Week – Semana Santa – is one of the major celebratory periods in the Spanish fiesta calendar. And Benidorm is no different. Several processions take place on different days during the week, commencing on Palm Sunday and culminating on Easter Sunday.
Our holiday resort is transformed as pageantry and religiosity take centre stage, beginning with the solemnity surrounding the crucifixion and ending with a more joyous and triumphant mood as we move towards the resurrection at the end of the week. To be in Benidorm during Holy Week is a beautiful thing and further testimony to why our destination is one of the best .
