Benidorm is a shopping paradise for present buying, memento buying, and I’m having that dress because I deserve it buying.

In the Levante area, you have the glorious Avenida del Mediterráneo. Recently upgraded, you might say it represents the wealth and prestige Benidorm has generated since the birth of the package holiday in the 1960s. It’s a retail hotspot for fashion and jewellery but also a magical place to embrace the joy of an early evening stroll and a discreet bit of window shopping.

The Old Town offers up a kaleidoscope of independent boutiques, brands and the ubiquitous Ale-Hop. Each shop seems to be pasted into the myriad of narrow streets and intimate arcades making for an unforgettable shopping experience.

Further out of town, jumping on the No2 bus, make your way up to La Marina shopping mall. Over 100 shops, fully airconditioned – a welcome relief if visiting in July or August – and a magnificent rooftop dining terrace with views out towards Benidorm and the Mediterranean.
