Valencia Fallas

Sunday 1 March to Thursday 19 March

Valencia, Valencian Community, Spain

If you are in Benidorm during the first couple of weeks in March, a visit to Valencia has to be on your To Do List.

One of Spain’s premier festivals takes place from the 1st to the 19th, conjuring up a mix of tradition, satire and art all served up with a good dose of chaos!

On each day the city reverberates with the Mascletà, that noisy, firecracker noise that is so wonderfully Spanish.

The key dates are the 15th to the 19th when you can witness the ‘planting’ of hundreds of fallas in streets and squares all over the city. Each falla usually follows a theme and includes a myriad of individual sculptures called ninots depicting famous people, often with a nod to current affairs.

If you are here on the 19th you can join in the thrill of watching them all go up in flames!
