Isla de Benidorm, Benidorm Island, Peacock Island. This little rock in the sea has, over the years, become an iconic piece of the Benidorm narrative. And for that reason alone you should book yourself onto this timeless boat trip that regularly departs from Benidorm Port. When you get there you might think it’s no great shake –  just a piece of rock with a restaurant probably looking remarkably the same as it did way back in the sixties. But, for us, it’s a little more than that. It’s part of the nearly 70-year history of modern tourism in Benidorm. Walk slowly to the top of the island and gaze back to the mainland and you will realise the enormity of the journey Benidorm has taken from a small, idyllic fishing port to a goliath in the world of travel and tourism.
