Top 10 Benidorm Hotels

More than any other destination, visitors to Benidorm have quite an intense relationship with the accommodation that populates every nook and cranny of this fabulous resort.

Whether it’s the food, the pool, the sun loungers, the room, the mobility scooter charging points …

One minute we love a hotel, the next we’re not so sure.

Some holidaymakers will book into the same hotel year after year, while for others they like to share the love, preferring to experience a different part of Benidorm each time they visit.

At the end of the day, every hotel genuinely gives it their best to provide a home from home for us all to enjoy our Benidorm holiday.

And as there are well over 100 Benidorm hotels, it can be difficult to pick your favourites. However, let’s have a go.

Here’s the 10 Benidorm Hotels we have a soft spot for…

Top 10 Benidorm Hotels

Don Pancho

One of the true legacy names in the storied history of Benidorm, Hotel Don Pancho first opened its doors to an expectant public back in May 1972.

And it is fair to say that since those heady early days of the package holiday, Hotel Don Pancho has generally been regarded as one of the best, if not the best, hotels in Benidorm.

A nod to a long standing love affair with its British guests is captured by the hotel’s renowned Afternoon Tea served from October through to May, as well as a rooftop bowling green.

But it is the attention to detail and an unrelenting desire to please its guests that sets this iconic hotel apart.

Just walk into the entrance lobby and you begin to understand why a hotel first imagined by the Torrubia brothers over fifty years ago continues to be Top of the Pops for many Benilovers today.

Barceló Benidorm Beach

Any genuine Benidorm aficionado, maybe of a certain vintage, will recall the classic Hotel Selomar occupying this stunning location on Levante promenade.

A high-end beachfront property during the 1970s and 80s, it was the place to be back in the day, if you had enough pesetas!

After falling into disrepair for a long time and then ravaged by a fire, it wasn’t until the Barceló group pumped in over 20 million euros for the renovation that we began to see the old girl come back to life, albeit with a new moniker, Barceló Benidorm Beach.

If you love the beach and the Old Town, Barceló Benidorm Beach has an enviable position.

And now with the awesome refurb and the new B-Heaven rooftop bar with heavenly views, it flies straight into the Top 10 Benidorm Hotels list!

RH Corona del Mar

We are big Poniente fans. The beach, the restaurants and the generally relaxed Spanish vibe, all combine to make this our fave area of Benidorm.

And the RH Corona del Mar adds gloriously to a Benidorm stay.

Located at the bottom of the famous Avenida Jaimie I, you are mere yards from the beach, a few minutes to the port and a few more will have you in the heart of the Old Town.

The hotel has most things spot on, from the delicious homemade Valencian cuisine to the Wellness Room with gym, jacuzzi and sauna.

We always take an evening stroll up Avenida Jaimie I, feeling part of the Spanish neighbourhood, especially when we pop into Cervecería Angelillo to watch a Spanish footy game alongside the locals – Vamos!

Villa Venecia

When you mention 5-star and Benidorm in the same sentence, you begin to realise how times have moved on since the 1970s and 80s.

And when you decide to go 5-star in Benidorm, you go to Hotel Villa Venecia.

Perched on El Balcón, the iconic promontory that splits the Levante and Poniente beaches into two, Hotel Villa Venecia is no ordinary hotel. A total lux-fest, with jaw-dropping views of Playa de Levante, Sierra Gelada and out towards Isla de Benidorm and the vast expanse of the Mediterranean Sea.

Inside you can enjoy the gastronomic delight of the hotel’s Llum de Mar restaurant and the chill-out sun terrace with those same magnificent views.

Villa Venecia is somewhere to go to feel special, with a loved one.

H10 Porto Poniente

For some, a rooftop pool can never be a good thing. But even the naysayers might make an exception for the set-up at the H10 Porto Poniente

Decked flooring, in line with the maritime theme throughout the hotel; sunshine yellow loungers and parasols, the Marea Alta Rooftop Bar and … those views!

And then there is the location itself; step outside and you’re in Dove Park and then straight onto La Playa.

A stroll into the Old Town along one of our favourite Benidorm streets, Carrer de Sant Pere, takes only a few minutes and presents an opportunity to take a pause for a drink at the ever popular Refuel Bar and Terrace.

Cimbel

For all you traditionalists who prefer your sun-drenched swimming pool to be securely attached to terra firma, look no further than Hotel Cimbel.

A classy hotel in prime position on the Levante side of the resort, mere metres from the beach and in the company of the fabulous bars and restaurants that stretch out along the famous promenade.

The vibe is more international than British, and the tone geared towards relaxation and chill compared with some of the busier hotels.

So although you are in the heart of Benidorm’s New Town area, Hotel Cimbel offers up a little sanctuary where you can find much needed peace and tranquillity while at the same time knowing the beach and the bars are only a few footsteps away.

Port Benidorm

The Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa has an ideal position in the Rincón de Loix area of Benidorm.

Just a minute or so from Levante Beach and handy for Avenida del Mediterráneo, Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa is a firm favourite amongst the Benilover fraternity.

Formerly known as Hotel Dalmatas before the huge refurbishment and name change instigated by local Benidorm hotelier Toni Mayor, this contemporary hotel possesses an understated elegance and air of quiet sophistication that brings guests back year after year.

And the 19th floor rooftop cocktail bar, La Terrasse, offers stupendous views of the whole of Benidorm – you’ll find a thousand photos across Social Media, including on our channels!

The hotel has been so successful there is now an additional 26-storey tower being constructed to add another 125 rooms to the property; as well as a new pool expanse, juiced up communal areas and an extension to the ‘must-visit’ roof terrace.

Ambassador Playa I & II

If your Benidorm holiday is all about being at the heart of Benidorm’s Party Zone, Hotel Ambassador Playa I & II plays all the right notes.

The twin complex is superbly laid out with fabulous pool areas, awesome bars that include The Western Saloon and The Explorers Club, and seemingly endless positive reviews from guests – especially for the food which gets a big thumbs up from the majority of British visitors.

There are many good hotels in and around the Benidorm Strip but if you had to pick one in this area, the Ambassador Playa just about nicks it.

INNSiDE Costablanca

There are not too many large global hotel chains with properties in Benidorm but Meliá, Spain’s largest operator, has a few.

And we think you would have to agree that the INNSiDE Costablanca has the premier location on Avenida Alcoy, otherwise knows as the Levante promenade.

We always used to enjoy staying at the hotel when it was originally branded as SOL Costablanca – with the beach only about … 20 seconds away, and a cute pool that looks out onto the Med and Isla de Benidorm, you’re pretty much set up for the classic beachside vacation.

Once you factor in an authentic kitchen that produces some quality Valencian dishes, refreshing decor in the communal areas and a sea view room worthy of the supplement, you begin to see why the INNSiDE Costablanca is an even better version of the old SOL Costablanca.

Voramar

If urban-cool, city chic and tapas heaven are the triggers for an unforgettable holiday, head for Hotel Voramar in the bustling heart of Benidorm Old Town.

As big fans of the Old Town, where we love to combine our time checking out the intricate web of narrow streets with the occasional visit to the beaches of Mal Pas and Poniente, Hotel Voramar offers up that cityscape feel which is ideal if your version of a Benidorm holiday doesn’t have to arrive with a big hotel, big pool and an animation team!

Once you step outside of the Voramar, you’ll experience the best of Benidorm, almost on your doorstep – intimate restaurants, Basque tapas bars, the best Drag venues, gay clubs, the blue-domed church, the castle square, a choice of three beaches and just across the road from the hotel, you have the one and only Vincent’s Old Town pub.

And back inside the hotel, you have a Jazz and Soul inspired Cocktail Bar, a Roof Terrace bar and pool as well as a top notch restaurant creating a fabulous range of authentic Spanish dishes.
