Benidorm’s Indoor Market seems to have been around as long as Benidorm itself! In many ways, it is synonymous with the relationship Brits have with the resort. It means something more than a collection of independent shops, many of them now run by Brits! It is a lodestar, shining bright in the Rincón, a place to meet, grab a coffee and maybe exchange your pounds for euros at Sheila’s.
It has a Spanish vibe although slap bang in the middle of Benidorm Britland. But maybe that’s why it continues to hold its charm by encapsulating the bond between two sets of people, two cultures. Whatever it is, long may it last. Pop into the Indoor Market if you’ve never visited. But don’t expect miracles, it’s just a little market where the Spanish and British shop in harmony.
