The day after the November Fiestas end, Benidorm throws one of the biggest fancy dress parties in Europe. On the Thursday, tens of thousands of Benilovers fill the streets around Calle Gerona, Calle Lepanto, Calle Derramador and Calle Mallorca in Levante, and anything goes: superheroes, nuns, Smurfs and whole stag and hen groups in matching outfits.
The party officially starts at 2pm and carries on long into the night.
Roads around The Strip close to traffic from 11am, the bars spill out onto the pavements, and the crowd is famously good-natured.
Book your hotel early, as Fancy Dress week is one of the busiest of the year. Keep an eye on your belongings in the crowds, and bring layers, because November evenings get cool.
