Monica Alfaro Elordi was born a Madrileña, moving from Spain’s capital, Madrid, when she was ten. Growing up in Villajoyosa instilled in her a passion for gastronomy, and along with fellow chef Ignacio Flórez Magadán, they launched Casa Elordi at the turn of the century. Initially situated on the seafront, a move in 2006 relocated the restaurant to an old dwelling next to the town’s food market. We might refer to their menu as Fine Dining but more than anything it is a wonderful taste of España in a setting redolent of Old Spain. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion while on vacation, there aren’t many better dining experiences than Casa Elordi.
