You’re in Spain, by the Med. Next to a fishing port. There’s a clue there somewhere. We think it means clams to start, grilled monkfish and a chilled glass of Rueda on the side. And the place to go – Restaurante Ducado. Part of the Benidorm gastronomy scene since 1980, welcoming over the years the likes of actor Javier Bardem and flamenco dancer Joaquín Cortés. There is no better place to share a pan of lunchtime paella and a bottle of Marina Alta white before heading back to the beach to sleep it off. Seafood isn’t your bag, well, they knock out a great entrecôte steak and the lamb chops are as good as you can get. Advice – if you haven’t been, just go. At least once.
