This small charm of a hotel came to life in 1961. Not sure how many Brits were spending time in Benidorm back then but in the here and now, you won’t go far wrong with spending your hard-earned cash on a stay at the Hotel Colón. It really is an Old Town location but with amazing views of Poniente Beach and only 20 yards from Dove Park. You’re in the heart of Benidorm, with easy access to all three beaches and the bars and shops of the Old Town on your doorstep. A friendly atmosphere is always on tap and the Taberna del Colón, with its outdoor street terrace, is filled with good humour and bonhomie. If you decide to stay, some sixty-odd years after the hotel first opened its doors, book a sea view room. You won’t regret it.
